Why does Google Chrome use so much RAM?

The Google Chrome browser might be using lots of RAM since websites on the internet are becoming increasingly complicated and each tab can perform a process separately. Some reasons for Chrome browser using lots of RAM include videos, web applications, ads, extensions, and background processes. Google Chrome makes use of available RAM in order to enhance its efficiency; therefore, it is not always a problem when the Chrome browser uses lots of RAM. However, when the usage is persistent and is leading to freezing and slow performance, then there could be too many open tabs, some problem with an extension or heavy memory websites.
