How do I get from Amsterdam Airport to the train station?

I'm flying into Schiphol Airport and would like to take the train to Utrecht right away. I've heard that the airport has its own train station, but I'm not sure how to get there after landing or where to buy a ticket. Has anyone taken this route before and can explain how it works?

I’d also like to know if there are direct trains to different cities in the Netherlands or if we need to go to Amsterdam Centraal first and transfer. There are four of us traveling, and we’ll have quite a lot of luggage. How easy is it to get from the airport station to the train? Are there elevators and wide aisles for large suitcases? I’ve heard that trains can get very crowded during rush hour. With four suitcases, it could be quite challenging. Is there a more convenient option for groups with a lot of luggage?

I often travel this way because my parents live in Amsterdam. The train station at Schiphol is one of the most convenient features of the airport. It’s right under the terminal, and it takes about five minutes to walk there from the terminal. If you’re not sure you can find it on your own, check out this guide to the airport: https://amsterdam-ams-international-airport.com/en . Similar sites exist for many airports, and I always use them before my flights. The trip to Utrecht takes about thirty minutes with no transfers. You can buy tickets at the ticket machines in the station or in advance through the NS app. I recommend buying tickets in advance so you don’t have to stand in line with your luggage. Have you decided on your departure time from Utrecht yet?
