Thinking about the Philippines for a vacation

#1773 Quote
Some tour operators are throwing around pretty massive discounts for trips to the Philippines right now. The pictures look incredible but actual details about the country are completely missing from those brochures. I usually get bored out of my mind just sitting on the sand after a couple of days. Are there any actual sights or natural spots worth visiting away from the resorts? A vehicle is definitely needed to drive around and check things out on my own. Does anyone know how the rental situation works out there?

Those cheap packages are basically designed to keep you trapped in the resort eating their food all week. The actual culture hits way different once you leave the tourist bubbles and head into the provinces. The inland regions have massive volcanoes and ancient rice terraces that look completely unreal in person. Local rental shops in the major cities stock plenty of pickup trucks and SUVs to handle the rougher mountain roads. The workers behind the counter usually just need a standard driver license to hand over the keys.

Man, those discounted deals are a perfect excuse to go explore a brand new part of the world. You definitely need to try the local street food like adobo or lechon because the flavors are absolutely insane. Navigating between different provinces requires a reliable ride to handle the changing road conditions comfortably. You can see the available options and rent a car in the Philippines here: https://getrentacar.com/en-US/philippines . The marketplace connects you directly with local owners who offer vehicles with proper air conditioning for that tropical heat.
